    Andrew Marting international interior design award is rated as the "Oscar for interior design industry"  by the Sunday Times of U.K and the Times of America. The award-wining works each year are considered as the "Bible for interior design". For the past many years, the designers from Europe and America dominated the award. As a high level award for interior design, many elites from various fields had been invited to be judges each year. The elites include architect, costume designer, artists and chief editor of fashion media, through which the works could withstand the nitpicking from different fields.

    As the most top interior design competition held by the international Interior Designer Association(IIDA), the contest started from 1973, which praises the superior new ideas and technologies for the interior design worldwide, as well as discovers those talented designers  and design corporations and encourages them to meet challenges from new fields constantly. In addition, the organization will propagandize the awards by various media to academic world and business circles. Each year, six participants representing the highest talent and accomplishment in the industry of interior design will be selected from numerous candidates worldwide by IIDA according to different types of competitors and projects. Then, each year, six winners will be invited to present the award ceremony held in Chicago.
